Our mission and vision statement:

The Sylacauga City Schools Library Media Program serves as the cornerstone of equitable access to information, literacy development, and digital learning for all students. The mission is to empower learners to think critically, create responsibly, and engage ethically with information in a global society. The program's vision is to provide inclusive, future-ready library media centers that foster lifelong learning, creativity, and collaboration.

The most effective student learning is composed of many parts- with the school library media program at its center, playing a vital role in curriculum development and collaborative planning. Serving all grades equally as well as all content areas, the library media program is centralized in a way that provides a unique perspective of the needs and abilities of all the members of the school’s learning community. This perspective not only allows the library media program to bring the library media specialist and educators together in order to best create innovative and exemplary curricular experiences for the students, but it also allows the library media program to ensure that students and educators alike become effective and ethical users and creators of ideas and information.
